The Virtual University of Pakistan (UV) held its 11th Annual Convocation at the varsity’s Sialkot campus on Tuesday. The 11th VU convocation saw as many as 938 graduates being awarded degrees in various disciplines.
Of those conferred degrees, 303 passed with bachelors, 474 with master and 161 were MS/M Phil graduates. Furthermore, 15 merit certificates and five gold medals were awarded to graduates in various disciplines to acknowledge their outstanding academic performance.
The convocation was declared open by VU Rector Naeem Tariq. He highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology-based education and highlighted the provision of quality education to the remotest areas of the country.
Tariq welcomed the guests and their parents on gracing the event with their presence. He said parents, as well as teachers, deserved to be congratulated on the great efforts. He asked students to always remain respectful to their parents and set targets and goals to achieve better results.
The rector later distributed medals and awards among high achievers. Besides the dignitaries, faculty members and students, a large number of parents were also present at the convocation.
