As many as 147 employees of the Sindh University received promotion and upgradation orders in BPS- 14, 16 and 17 here on Tuesday.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro distributed orders among the employees at a ceremony held in the Senate Hall of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat.

On this occasion, as many as 32 senior data entry operators were given away the orders of grade 17 from grade 16. Similarly, 13 computer operators were promoted from grade 11 to grade 16, while 102 clerks were upgraded from grade 11 to 14.

The said orders were issued after the approval granted by the Syndicate following the recommendations of departmental promotion committee (DPC).

Addressing the ceremony, Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro said that the DPC for the promotion of the employees was held to promote and upgrade the officials in spite of extremely unfavorable financial conditions.

“By this, the financial burden upon the varsity will arise, but we didn’t care about it and promoted and upgraded the deserving employees”, he said. Dr Kalhoro further said that promotion orders would also be given on time to the employees who had been left out of promotions or upgradations.

“The employees should do their job honestly, because this institution does not belong only to the Vice-Chancellor or any one particular person, this university belongs to all and everyone should think to maintain its evolution and existence”, he said.

He said that as many as 300 to 400 employees in the residential colony of the University of Sindh were living, where electricity was being used recklessly and unnecessarily adding that it was the responsibility of everyone to own the varsity.

Registrar Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Bhutto, Controller of Examinations (Semester) Muhammad Mashooq Siddiqui, Abdul Majeed Panhwar, Muhammad Ali Ghanghro, Manzoor Ali Panhwar and others were also present on the occasion
