1,934 Students Awarded Degrees at 18th UMT Convocation

A total of 1934 graduating students were awarded degrees at the 18th UMT Convocation held at the varsity’s main campus in Lahore on Thursday.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Federal Minister for Privatization Mian Muhammad Somroo was the guest of honor. President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Chairman UMT, ILM Trust Ahmad Umar Murad, Rector UMT Dr Muhammad Aslam, faculty members, students and parents attended the convocation. At the convocation degrees were awarded to 934 graduates of Bachelors programs, 246 students of Masters, 543 students of MS/MPhil and 15 PhD students.IMG 20200102 WA0000

Besides, 18 Patron Gold Medal, 22 Rector Silver Medals, 7 Rector Academic Excellence awards, 3 Rectors Research Relegation Award, 8 Special Medal Award, 6 Certificates of Excellence, 5 Rector Award for Entrepreneurship, 10 Extra Co-curricular Awards, 4 Faculty publications and 4 faculty impact factor publication awards were given.

President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that UMT is not producing job searchers but it is producing job creators and entrepreneurs. He paid homage to Khurram Jah Murad and Hasan Sohaib Murad who served the education sector and gave real ideological stream to education sector in country. Federal Minister for Privatization Mian Muhammad Somroo said UMT is giving students modern education based on research in real means. He said that after watching graduates of UMT he is satisfied that future of Pakistan is in save hands.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar was of the view that students should focus on working hard as this is the only solution to the country’s issues. He said that these youngsters will take charge of the responsibilities of the country in next few years.
