The 2nd International Conference on Computing Mathematics & Engineering Technologies-2019 (iCoMET) concluded at the auditorium of Sukkur IBA University on Thursday. The theme of the conference was “Sustainable Technologies for Socio-Economic Development” in which numerous national and international speakers presented their work on a wide array of topics. Guest speakers, researchers and students expressed their satisfaction over two-day deliberations and brain storming at the conference which included a number of parallel sessions, where different ways and means were carved out to deal with the concurrent problems in the fields of computing and engineering technologies.

Sukkur IBA Vice Chancellor Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui in his address welcomed the international and national participants. He said from the very first day it is our endeavor to encourage culture of research and innovation at our university. “This international conference is second of its kind with the purpose to not only find ways and means to take up the challenges of the change, but provide sustainable solutions, as well”, he said. Moreover, he added ten international guest speakers, along with 12 local speakers have participated in iCoMET this year.

He said the participants have gathered to find solutions to our socio-economic problems for sustainable development and now  Pakistani universities do not follow leading international universities. “I am not saying this as a show off gesture, rather I mean it that, now we are going to compete in the fields of info-tech, bio-tech and artificial intelligence”, he added. Later, the vice chancellor gave away souvenirs and traditional Sindhi clothing to the guest speakers.    We have gathered here to find solutions to our socio-economic problems for sustainable development”, Siddiqui said in his opening address.
