3000 Afghan national students to get scholarships in Pakistani universities

Almost 3000 Afghan students are studying in Pakistani universities, the graduation ceremony of these students will be held this month in Islamabad. Under the project of “Award of 3000 Scholarships to Afghan National Students as per Prime Minister’s Directives” every year, Afghan students are awarded with scholarships from government of Pakistan.

In this regard, under the auspices of HEC, a special meeting was held at UET Lahore. HEC officials as representatives and Afghan students from different universities such as UET, GCU- Lahore and King Edward Medical College Lahore visited UET, Lahore and attended the meeting.

While addressing the participants Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar said that currently there are 74 Afghan students studying in UET. Every year, the university awards scholarships to 44 Afghan students. The participants appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister, HEC and Vice Chancellor UET in taking special measures for students of Afghanistan.
