38 Pakistani Students’ Scores Best In World In Cambridge 2017 Exams

Thirty eight Pakistani students who sat examinations for various subjects in the Cambridge Assessment International Education’s exams held in June 2017 have been adjudged the top candidates in the world in their respective disciplines.

The candidates who topped the exams will be awarded Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards for their achievements, a press release issued on Tuesday by Cambridge Assessment International Education stated. The apex examination body said 20 of the candidates hailed from Punjab, 12 were from Sindh and Balochistan, and six belonged to northern Pakistan.

The press release said the awards celebrated the outstanding academic achievements of secondary school learners in Pakistan in the June 2017 Cambridge examination. It said ta total of 80 learners in Sindh and Balochistan would receive awards for exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations, including 13 learners who attained the highest marks in Pakistan in a single subject.

Besides, more than 80 learners from North Pakistan would be awarded for outstanding performance in Cambridge examinations, including 11 learners with the highest marks in Pakistan in a single subject.

In Punjab, a total of more than 90 learners would receive awards for exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations, including 16 learners who attained the highest marks in Pakistan in a single subject.

Cambridge Assessment International Education Pakistan Director Uzma Yousuf said she was extremely proud of Pakistani students’ achievements in the Cambridge exams. “Congratulations on your outstanding exam results. I would also like to congratulate all the teachers and schools who have worked so hard to help you achieve such success, and your parents who supported you. Cambridge qualifications open up so many opportunities in life, and I wish you all the best as you take your next steps.”

The ‘Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards’ celebrates the success of learners taking Cambridge examinations in over 40 countries around the world. Cambridge places learners at the centre of their international education programmes and qualifications which are inspired by the best in educational thinking.

The awards also celebrate the achievements of those learners who have been recognised for ‘High Achievement’, based on outstanding performance in subjects which are not yet so widely taken in Pakistan, and learners who have achieved the total highest cumulative marks across a number of subjects. The winning learners out-performed thousands of candidates worldwide who sat Cambridge O Levels, Cambridge IGCSEs and Cambridge International AS & A Levels.
