Our enemies know that they can’t defeat us, so that is why they are trying to financially weaken us but we can overcome the situation if we all unite for the sovereignty of our motherland. These views were expressed by Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan while addressing the closing ceremony of the “Fifth Oral Presentation Competition for MPhil and PhD Students” organized by Dr A Q Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE) at its Jinnah Auditorium.

Pakistan is rich in natural resources and its agricultural land is still the most fertile in the world, but unfortunately, we have failed to utilize it for the betterment of the citizens of our beloved country and did not take any benefit from it. Today, Pakistan enjoys a prominent position and identity in all Islamic countries and one of the major reasons is its nuclear status, the credit for becoming the first Muslim nuclear state goes to Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

While talking to the young researchers, he said that you are the hope of Pakistan and you can use your talents to strengthen and stabilize the economy of Pakistan. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan further said that the industries should promote and use the research work of the universities and also help them in marketing the research products around the world which would eventually increase the exports of Pakistan.

The Director General KIBGE Dr Abid Azhar said that we strive to provide all facilities and training to our students so that they can stand tall anywhere in the world. “Despite its limited resources, it strives to hone students’ abilities as well as to adapt them to modern requirements”.

Meanwhile, Professor Dr Kaleem Raza Khan said that correct spelling and correct pronunciation of words are essential for writing. He shared that in this age of modern technology, every student has a dictionary in the form of a mobile phone. It is up to the students to make use of it.

At the end of the ceremony, Professor Dr Aqeel Ahmed Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi, announced the results of the poster competition. Zunera Imran bagged the first position, and Sehar Khan and Sarwat Sehar received second and third positions respectively.
