700 candidates compete for 150 seats in BSMT entrance examination at JSMU

The entrance examination for a four-year degree programme Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) of the Institute of Medical Technology (IMT-JSMU) was held at Jinnah Sindh Medical University on February 18, 2022.

According to Office of Admissions, a total of 900 aspiring candidates applied for admissions, out of whom 700 applicants were found eligible, for a total of 150 seats of BSMT.

Acting Vice Chancellor JSMU Professor Shahid Rasul said that JSMU enrols the best minds from the province and its medical technology programme aspires to train committed and competent professionals by utilizing the latest technology.
Registrar JSMU Dr Azam Khan inspected the examination sites alongwith Director Admissions Dr Fatima Abid, Director IMT-JSMU Dr Muhammad Imran, Qazi Shabbir and others.

Under the BSMT programme, students can opt for eight domains, including Cardiac Perfusion, Cardiovascular Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Respiratory Therapy, and Clinical Care Sciences, Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy, Operation Theater Sciences, Radiological Imaging, and Dental Technology and Hygiene. Office of Admissions organized the entrance examination and provided invigilators and supporting staff across examination venues. Dr. Fatima Abid, Director Admissions JSMU said that all the admissions are being conducted purely on an eligibility and merit basis.
