Pakistan is remembering the victims of the gruesome terrorist attack on 16 December 2014 when terrorists stormed the Army Public School in Peshawar and killed over 150 people including 132 students.

From social media to TV channels, people from all walks of life are remembering and paying tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar.

Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz said every December 16, on the anniversary of the APS tragedy, sorrows and wounds reignited in the hearts of the entire nation.

“Terrorists martyred innocent people and caused unforgettable grief to the entire nation. We will not allow the victories against us to go in vain,” he said.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir on the sixth anniversary of the attack said the nation salutes the greatness of APS martyrs as they gave new life to Pakistan by sacrificing their lives.

“The nation can never forget the sacrifices of the martyred children and teachers and APS martyrs are our real heroes,” Raja Yasir Humayun said.

In a tweet, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Health said, “Words will never be enough. On this day, the memory of those who sacrificed their lives at APS Peshawar must remind us to build a country where the future of millions of children is bright.”

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan paying rich tributes to the martyrs of APS and their families shared separate messages.

KP Governor said Shah Farman said that little heroes are nation’s pride and the nation would never forget their sacrifice. “Entire nation is grieved over the most tragic attack in history.” He added.

The Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said students’ sacrifice in the tragic APS incident would always be remembered.

He paid tribute to the security forces and said nation is united to root out terrorism from the society. The Chief Minister said the government would always extend a helping hand to the bereaved families of the APS.

It is pertinent to note that a 20-point National Action Plan was surfaced a month after the APS attack, to combat militancy and terrorism to bring peace in the country.
