Access English Micro Program Launched at UAF

Effective communication skills are necessary to excel in every sphere of life as the limits of language are the limits of your world, University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf said on Wednesday.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the orientation of Access English Micro Program launched in collaboration with the US Consulate. While praising the US Consulate’s initiative, the VC stressed upon the need for refurbishing the communication skills of students, which would open up new horizons of opportunities.
Dr Ashraf said that besides writing, special attention must be paid to pronunciation, adding that the English program would strengthen students’ communication skills and help them look for scholarships abroad in an effective manner.
The UAF VC was of the view that English was the language of the world and effective communication skills were essential to learn from the experiences of the other nations. He urged participants to hone their communication skills, as it would greatly help them succeed in their respected fields.
Principal UAF Community College Dr Haq Nawaz Bhatti said all out efforts were being made to ensure quality education at the campus and produce trained manpower. Dr Asim Aqeel said the English micro scholarship was a huge opportunity for the underprivileged people to learn.
The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) provides a foundation of English language skills to bright, economically disadvantaged students, primarily aged 13 to 20, in their home countries. Access programs give participants English skills that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects.
