Ahmad Khawar Shahzad takes charge as COO of TEVTA

Ahmad Khawar Shahzad took charge as Chief Operating Officer (COO) Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) on Thursday morning.

While addressing an introductory meeting newly appointed COO Ahmad Khalid Shahzad said that the role of technical education is important in terms of CPEC. We need to upgrade our academic curriculum as per international standards, he added.

He vowed to provide technical and vocational training to youngsters belonging to rural areas regardless of their gender. He said, “It’s our priority to provide them equal employment opportunities”. He had meetings with Director Generals, Directors and other higher officials of TEVTA.

Ahmad Khawar Shahzad is an officer of the Provincial Management Service (PMS) and has served in many other key roles. Previously he was serving as Director (Development and Finance) Sahiwal. He is also a Doctoral Candidate in management from PUTRA Business School, University Putra Malaysia.

He formerly served as Director General, Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED) Lahore and Deputy Commissioner, Toba Tek Singh. He has visited Singapore, China, Malaysia, Korea regarding Civil Service Training.

In recognition of his dedicated services, he has been conferred with National Peace Award– 2022 (National Peace & Justice Council, Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad), Paigham-e-Pakistan Peace Award – 2019 (Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad) and First Research Award – 2015 (International Chicago Labor Corporation – Pakistan Chapter)

He is author of numerous research articles including his book on Governance entitled, Political Economy of Bureaucracy in Pakistan – 2020.
