Country’s most elite educational institution, Aitchison College, has been warned by Punjab Government as the institutions ignored Single National Curriculum’s guidelines.

As per the details gathered by the Academia Magazine, Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) wrote a letter to Aitchison College for warning against issuing books for grades I-V which have not yet been issued NOCs by the board.

The letter reads “It is to apprise you that the PCTB reviews and issues NOCs to the books after due process not on the request of an educational institution (school/college), but on the request of book developer (person/agency/private publisher) who apply for the same.”

PCTB also asked the college to apply for NOC at board and wrote in letter, “You are again requested/ advised to kindly do not prescribe those books which have not given NOCs by PCTB.”

It is pertinent to mention here that all books belongs to Cambridge University Press.

On the other hand, Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas also shared the information on Twitter and said that government has issued a letter to Aitchison College. He wrote, “Letter sent to Aitchison College Lahore for NOT implementing Single National Curriculum in its entirety by Punjab Curriculum Textbook Board. Zero exemptions. I will not let anyone challenge the writ of the government.”

There are no reviews yet.
