In a significant move to combat drug abuse and smoking among students, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan has joined hands with the University of Sahiwal. The partnership was solidified during a meeting between an ANF delegation, led by Mr Farooq Ch and Dr Maria, and the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Dr Javaid Akhtar.
The discussions emphasized the pressing need for educational institutions to take an active role in fostering a drug-free environment. The university administration expressed strong support for collaborative strategies to educate and protect students from the dangers of substance abuse.
As part of the initiative, the ANF delegation participated in an interactive session with students, organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA). The session provided a platform for students to discuss their concerns, ask questions, and gain insights into the harmful effects of narcotics and smoking. The dialogue underscored the importance of awareness campaigns and preventive measures within the academic community.
In recognition of ANF’s efforts, the Director of Student Affairs, Dr Muhammad Waseem Tufail, presented a commemorative souvenir to the visiting delegation. The Director ORIC – University of Sahiwal, Dr Muhammad Ayyoub, was also present at the event.
This collaboration marks a crucial step in the fight against drug abuse in educational institutions. By equipping students with knowledge and resources, the initiative aims to reinforce a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring a healthier future for Pakistan’s youth.
