APSUP Summit for Entrepreneurial Educators Charts New Course

The Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), in partnership with Superior University, Lahore, recently concluded a groundbreaking “Summit for Entrepreneurial Educators” at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) in Karachi. This two-day summit brought together senior educators from public and private universities across Sindh to reshape the future of entrepreneurship education in Pakistan.

The summit aimed to inspire and prepare educators to instill an entrepreneurial mindset in students, equipping them to become proactive leaders for a more economically robust Pakistan. Through four expert-led sessions, the event explored essential entrepreneurial skills and mindsets that educators can foster in students to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing economic landscape.

The sessions were conducted by a certified team of entrepreneurial educators from Superior University, who had been trained at Babson College in the United States, a global leader in entrepreneurship education. Prof Dr Sumaira Rehman, Rector of Superior University, introduced participants to the “Superior Entrepreneurship Education Model (SEEM),” a unique framework used by Superior University to develop entrepreneurial skills in students.

Other distinguished Superior University leaders also contributed to the summit, sharing insights on key themes in entrepreneurship education. Dr Sami Ullah Bajwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business & Management Sciences; Dr Ali Mohsin Naqvi, Director of the Chaudhry Abdul Khaliq Center for Contemporary Islamic Sciences (CAKCCIS); and Mr Muneeb Ahmed, Director of the Chaudhry Muhammad Akram Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CMACED), each led sessions on adaptability, character development, and strategic networking—core competencies for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The summit concluded with a closing ceremony attended by prominent figures in education. Prof Dr Tariq Rafi, Chairman of the Sindh Higher Education Commission, praised APSUP and Superior University for their commitment to advancing entrepreneurial education. IoBM President Mr Talib Karim Syed expressed gratitude to all participants, acknowledging the collaborative efforts to empower educators and drive a new vision for higher education in Pakistan.

This summit represents a significant step towards embedding entrepreneurship within Pakistan’s educational system, paving the way for future leaders who will contribute to an economically “Superior” Pakistan.
