The president of APUBTA thanked the speaker for granting time to hear the APUBTA delegation. The President briefed him about the violation of the HEC ordinance for the promotion of BPS teachers and its consequences on higher education. The Speaker very wisely understood and noticed the discrimination and deprivation and assured that he will soon sort out a suitable solution to this legitimate fundamental right.

The GS APUBTA Dr Imtiaz added that HEC had made an agreement with APUBTA on March 10, but unfortunately breached the same and failed to resolve the issues by the mid of May. Dr Hafsa explained the discriminatory policies of HEC. The speaker very kindly listened to the delegation and directed the Additional Secretary to constitute a committee of experts including HEC, APUBTA and the Ministry of Education to sort a feasible immediate solution to the violation on priority.

The speaker also directed that other reforms are also required for uplifting the standards of higher education. The Vice President APUBTA Dr Rehana Kausar pointed out the delaying tactics by the HEC even after signing the agreement for resolving the issues of BPS teachers in universities.

Hon speaker NA assured that he will play his positive role for granting the legitimate rights as per HEC ordinance very soon.
