The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has postponed today’s exams scheduled due to the expected heavy rainfall in the city.

The statement issued by the board officials reads; “the exams of Civics Part II and Sociology Part II for Arts regular and private, the statistics Part II for Arts regular group, Nursing paper of the Home Economics group, and Fine Arts paper-I for special candidates would not be taken on Thursday”.

The decision has been taken in line with the rain forecast released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). These papers will be held at the same exam centers and time on August 22, 2022 said a board spokesman.

It should be noted that several areas of Karachi reported light to moderate rain today afternoon as citizens brace themselves for more rain forecast in the port city till August 14.

The Karachi chief meteorologist said that heavy rainfall with thundershowers is likely to last from Thursday to Sunday. Subsequently, a new monsoon spell will enter Sindh from the Bay of Bengal, which may cause heavy rains with thundershowers in the city between August 17 and 18.

According to weather analysts, Karachi will see heavy rain under the fourth monsoon spell from August 11-14, 2022.
