The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Friday announced the second phase of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Annual Examinations 2021 starting from Monday to be continued till September 13.
According to the BIEK officials, as many as 136833 candidates would attempt the HSSC exams in morning and evening shifts. The students of eleventh class, the students who are dissatisfied with the results of annual examinations of 2020, and the students who want to improve their grades would attempt the second phase of HSSC exams.
Earlier, the boards had scheduled the second phase exams from August 7 to September 3. However, the board suspended exams due to the fourth wave of Covid-19. On Friday, BIEK issued a new schedule. Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister also said that educational institutions would remain closed till August 30.
According to the BIEK Chairman Prof. Dr. Saeeduddin, as many as 56678 students would be appearing in the morning shift while 80155 aspirants would participate in the evening shift. The board has set up a total of 221 examination centers including 113 for the morning shift and 108 for the evening shift.
The Chairman said that all preparations have been completed for conducting transparent examinations. Special arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident in examinations. Two monitoring cells have been set up, one at Commissioner’s Office Karachi and the second at the BIEK office.
He informed that carrying any electronic device, mobile phone and duplicate material in any form to the examination centers is prohibited. The board reserves the right to take disciplinary action against the violators. The board officials would ensure the provision of all facilities including masks and hand sanitizers to the candidates during the examinations.
