The Board of intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore announced the detailed results of Intermediate Annual Examination 2018 on Wednesday, revealing n overall pass percentage of 63.15.
The board had on Tuesday announced the names of position holders in the annual inter result 2018, in which students of private colleges had swept most of the top position up for grabs. According to details, a total of 167,674 students appeared in the inter exams 2018 and only 105,891 managed to clear the exams.
The overall top three position in the examinations conducted by BISE Lahore were clinched by girls from the pre-medical group. Kashaf Sanaullah of Punjab College for Women, Muslim Town, was declared the top scorer in the inter result 2018 with 1,062 marks, while Sajal Tariq from the same college was the runner up with 1,058 marks. The third position was also went a student of the same college, Kashaf Ali, who attained 1,053 marks.
The pre-medical group of candidates fared considerably better than their peers sitting the exam, as the group recorded an impressive pass percentage of 84.88, over 20 points higher than the inter result 2018 average.
On Wednesday, a ceremony was held at a local hotel with Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun Sarfraz in the chair to honour the position holders. BISE Lahore Chairman Prof Muhammad Ismail, Secretary Dr Rehana Ilyas, Controller Prof Nasir Jamil, winning students, teachers and families of the students attended the ceremony.
The students securing first, second and third positions were given Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 in cash prize, respectively, along with medals and letters of appreciation. Teachers of the students were also given medals and the topper, Kashaf Sanaullah, was awarded a laptop as well.
The minister congratulated the students and prayed that they would continue the tradition of educational achievements in the future.
