BSEK announced science group results

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Friday announced the results of the Annual Examinations 2022 for the science group.

 Abdul Rehman, a student of the Islamic Institute for Education bagged the first position with 97.54 percent makers while Rabia Imran of the Al Badar Secondary School Girls, Gulshan Iqbal secured the second position. She received 97.18 percent marks. However, two students namely Aliza Samdani of the St. Joseph’s Convention High School and Ramin Zubaidah of the Federal Secondary School FB Area secured the third position. They both acquired 97 percent marks. The results can be viewed on the BSEK’s official website.

According to the BSEK acting controller examinations Imran Tariq, around 152175 candidates were registered in the science group for annual exams, of them 150944 candidates participated in the assessment process. The success rate of the exam remained at 80.48 percent.

Among the successful candidates, as many as 52127 bagged A-one grades, around 34639 received A grade, 22548 B grade, 10155 C grade, 1851 D grade, and 11 got E grade. In addition, as many as 155 students who appeared in the exam to pass additional subjects were also declared successful.

The BSEK also held a ceremony in honor of the top three candidates. The event was attended by the BSEK chairman Sharaf Ali Shah, Universities and Boards Department Secretary Mureed Rahimo, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) Prof Dr Saeeduddin, Chairman of Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) Karachi Dr Masroor Ahmad Sheikh, and other officials.

On this occasion, Rahimo said that the present examination system needs major overhauls. In this regard, the department would consult with the examination boards to make the exam process more transparent.
