Center of Excellence in Water Resource Engineering (CEWRE) University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized a five weeks’ training on Numerical Modelling especially 3-D Flow Modelling.

In this context a closing ceremony was held at CEWRE to distribute certificates among participants. Federal Secretary Ministry of Water Resources Islamabad Mr. Muhammad Ashraf accompanied by Joint Secretary Ministry of Water Resources & Pakistan Commissioner for Indus Water Mehr Ali Shah, Joint Secretary Technical Punjab Irrigation Department Habib Ullah Bodla and Chief Research PID  Fazal Kareem, participated as chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by Engineers and Scientist of Punjab Irrigation Department related to hydraulic modeling.

Director CEWRE Prof Dr Noor M Khan delivered a welcome note and highlighted the need of numerical modeling for project planning and design. He appreciated the collaboration of CEWRE with Punjab Irrigation Department through support of Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

Federal Secretary  Muhammad Ashraf expressed the dearth of water resource’s experts and emphasized the improvement in water resources education for sustainable national development. In this regard he assured full support from Federal Ministry for promotion of research and training culture in the field of water resources. The ceremony was also attended by the Dean Faculty of Civil Engineering Prof Dr Habib Ur Rehman, Coordinator Training sessions Dr Ghulam Nabi and students. At the end of ceremony certificate were distributed among fourteen engineers and officers of Punjab Irrigation Department.
