In a bid to promote sports and cultivate talent among the youth, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), laid the foundation stone for a Judo Academy and Resource Center at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the endeavor to provide comprehensive sports facilities and training opportunities to students.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman HEC emphasized the importance of fostering excellence in martial arts, both in its technical and theoretical dimensions. He highlighted the potential of the academy to serve as a hub for aspiring judo athletes, offering them a platform to hone their skills and achieve proficiency in the sport.
The establishment of the Judo Academy and Resource Center is part of a broader initiative titled ‘Establishment of Sports Academies and Resource Centers,’ spearheaded by the HEC under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. This ambitious project aims to set up 13 sports academies and resource centers for various disciplines across public sector universities nationwide.
