Chinese Deputy Consul General Kawki visited Punjab University (PU) and called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar at his office.

In his address, Chinese Deputy Consul General Mr Kawki said that he was grateful to PU for providing the best facilities to Chinese students. He said that we are working on research projects in various fields in collaboration with Punjab University and there was a need to explore more opportunities for mutual cooperation in this regard.
He said that relations between PU and Chinese universities would be enhanced further. He said that before Covid-19, 40 percent of international scholarships were given to Pakistani students. He said that as the COVID-19 restrictions have relaxed, Pakistani students were again joining universities in China. He said that China was a big market for Pakistani products.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Saleem Mazhar said that PU would play an important role in promoting relations with China. He said that PU would always welcome Chinese teachers and students. He said that China and Pakistan would play a role in promotion of bilateral relations in the fields of education, trade, economy, culture etc.
The deans also discussed various opportunities of mutual cooperation in different academic disciplines.
