China has announced a fully funded scholarship program, inviting applications from Pakistani and Azad Jammu and Kashmir nationals through the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The program, facilitated by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Chinese Education Ministry, aims to offer opportunities for talented students in Pakistan to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in various fields at prestigious Chinese universities.
Here are the key details about the CGSP 2024-25:
Offered Programs:
Undergraduate (4-5 years)
Master’s (2-3 years)
Doctoral (3-4 years, including research tenure)
Mandatory 1-2 years of Chinese language preparatory classes during the study or research tenure.
Fields of Study:
The scholarships cover a wide array of fields including Science, Engineering, Medicine, Economics, Fine Arts, and more.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals, below specified age limits, and meet educational qualifications as per the respective program.
They should fulfill CSC and university admission requirements.
Candidates must provide scores for HAT or USAT tests.
Those awaiting results or already on other scholarships are ineligible.
Application Process:
Interested candidates must apply online through both the CSC and HEC portals. Failure to do so via both platforms will result in application dismissal. All required supporting documents should be provided in the prescribed format.
Required Documents:
Shortlisted candidates will need to submit various documents including educational certificates, study plans, recommendation letters, language proficiency certificates (if applicable), passport copies, medical and police clearance certificates, and employer’s NOC (if employed).
Benefits:
Scholars will receive monthly stipends ranging from CNY 2,500 to CNY 3,500 based on their level of study. The Chinese universities will cover education fees, administration costs, health insurance, and academic-related expenses. However, travel expenses are the responsibility of the recipients.

The deadline for applications on both the HEC and CSC portals is Thursday, December 28, 2023 (23:59 PM Pakistan Standard Time).
