Institute of Medical Education (IME) of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) held an Orientation Ceremony for the 7th batch of Certificate Program of Health Professions Education (CHPE), a six-month program focusing on developing basic skills in teaching and assessments.
Around 35 participants were welcomed by the faculty members of IME-JSMU, including Chairperson Professor Syeda Kauser Ali, Director CHPE Dr Shaur Sarfaraz, Director IME Dr Tazeen, and Lecturer Dr Tayabba Akram.
Vice Chancellor Professor Amjad Siraj Memon congratulated the new batch on securing a place in the CHPE program and emphasized the significance of the program. CHPE ALUMNI then shared their experiences in which Psychiatry Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Dr Jawed Akbar Dars, Oral Biology Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) Dr Rafia Rauz, and JSMU Pathology Department Dr Asma Shabbir shared their alumni experiences with the new participants.
While addressing the students, Chairperson IME Professor Syeda Kauser Ali said that by the end of the program the learners will be able to make informed and evidence-based decisions in teaching and assessment planning as practitioners.
A brief presentation on the Institute’s activities was given by Director IME Dr Tazeen Shah, while Dr Shaur Sarfaraz shared the course curriculum and program structure with the course participants.
