In a significant move to bolster digital education, global tech giant Cisco Systems has pledged its support for key IT initiatives led by Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT). The collaboration aims to enhance IT infrastructure and learning opportunities in public schools and colleges across Islamabad.
The agreement was formalized during a meeting between a ministry official and Cisco Pakistan’s Country Manager, Faheem Anwar, at the Serena Business Complex. As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Cisco Systems will establish an Academy Support Center for the ministry. This center will provide unlimited course licenses in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and networking, catering to learners of all skill levels—from beginners to experts.
Students from schools, colleges, and universities nationwide will gain access to free, internationally recognized Cisco certifications. Officials emphasized that the initiative is designed to equip young learners with critical digital skills, preparing them for a tech-driven future. They also expressed optimism that the partnership would transform Pakistan’s education landscape by bridging the digital divide and empowering students to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The collaboration is seen as a pivotal opportunity for students to upskill and contribute to a technology-driven future, marking a significant step forward in the country’s educational development.
