CISS-AJK Hosts Collaborative Session with VCs

The Center for International Strategic Studies, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (CISS-AJK), organized a significant session with the Vice Chancellors of leading universities from Azad Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen ties between academia and the think tank. The session, presided over by Associate Director CISS-AJK, Zohaib Altaf, aimed at exploring opportunities for collaboration and advancing research-driven initiatives in the region.

The meeting was attended by Prof Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, Vice Chancellor of the UAJK; Prof Dr Muhammad Younis Javed, Vice Chancellor of MUST; Prof Dr Zakria Zakir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Poonch; and Prof Dr Rehmat Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kotli, along with members of the CISS-AJK research faculty. During the session, Tayyaba Khurshid, Research Officer at CISS-AJK, provided a detailed briefing on the think tank’s research activities over the past two years, highlighting its efforts in addressing key strategic issues and fostering intellectual discourse in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The Vice Chancellors shared valuable insights on the role of academia in enhancing research and strategic initiatives. Prof Dr Zakria Zakir proposed the establishment of an indigenous data bank at CISS-AJK to reflect the unique demographic realities of the region. This idea, along with the collective interest expressed by the Vice Chancellors in collaborating with CISSAJK, marked a promising step toward leveraging academic and research expertise for regional development.

The session concluded with a group photo, and Associate Director Zohaib Altaf presented CISSAJK souvenirs to the Vice Chancellors as a gesture of mutual commitment to fostering academic and strategic growth in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
