CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Awards Fully Funded Scholarships

The Honorable Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, distributed fully funded scholarships to 82 deserving students under the Chief Minister Education Endowment Fund during a ceremony organized by the Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Higher Education Department (HED) KPK.

During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to advancing education in the province. He announced that the endowment fund would be doubled from Rs 1.2 billion to Rs 2.4 billion to support more students. Additionally, he unveiled plans to establish a Rs 2 billion fund for providing free education to orphans and girls up to class 12 and to reduce higher education fees by 50% starting next year.

Since its inception, the Chief Minister Education Endowment Fund has awarded 526 scholarships, benefiting 366 undergraduate, 150 graduate, and 10 international students at a total cost of Rs 615 million.

Addressing the gathering, Respected Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi emphasized the government’s vision to uplift education standards. “This initiative reflects our unwavering dedication to ensuring equitable access to quality education for all,” he said, expressing gratitude to the CM for prioritizing education in the province.

Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Capt (R) Kamran Ahmed Afridi, also spoke on the occasion, detailing the department’s achievements and outlining future plans to further expand educational opportunities for students in KPK.

The ceremony marks another significant step by the provincial government towards fostering an inclusive and robust educational system, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic excellence.
