CM Maryam Nawaz Unveils Tech-Driven Education Revolution

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has emphasized the government’s commitment to integrating technology and modern education to prepare the youth for the challenges of the digital era. In her message on Digital Learning Day, she highlighted a series of groundbreaking initiatives aimed at equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

One of the flagship programs, the CM Laptop Scheme, is set to revolutionize education in the province by providing students with essential tools for digital learning. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to bridge the gap between traditional education and the demands of the modern world.

To further empower the youth, the Punjab government is offering advanced IT training programs tailored to international market standards. These programs include cutting-edge courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI), software development, and freelancing, ensuring that students are well-prepared for high-demand careers in the tech industry. Additionally, IT course certifications are being designed to meet the requirements of the global job market, enabling freelancers to compete on an international scale.

In a bid to modernize the education system, smart classrooms and digital labs are being established in government schools across Punjab. These facilities aim to make learning more interactive, effective, and engaging by incorporating the latest technological advancements.

Maryam Nawaz also unveiled plans for Pakistan’s first-of-its-kind Nawaz Sharif IT City in Lahore, a landmark project set to transform the region into a hub for IT education and employment. The twin towers within the IT City are expected to be completed this year, alongside a state-of-the-art plug-and-play call center hub. This initiative is poised to create thousands of job opportunities and attract global IT universities, several of which have already expressed interest in establishing campuses within the IT City.

The Chief Minister reiterated her vision of positioning Punjab as a leader in digital innovation and education, ensuring that the youth are not only equipped with modern skills but also have access to world-class infrastructure and opportunities. Through these initiatives, the government aims to foster a new generation of tech-savvy professionals capable of driving economic growth and innovation in Pakistan.
