The complainant of power harassment against the IBA registrar Dr Asad Ilyas has rejected the Anti-Harassment Committee report that suggested a 2-week suspension of the registrar. However, the registrar has resigned from the position but announced that he will continue his job as a faculty member.

According to the informed sources, the complainant Muhammad Jibrael was formally informed by the Executive Director (ED) through an email about the recommendations of the committee.

However, Jibrael rejected the punishment and claimed that a proclaimed harasser should not be allowed to work as a faculty member. He demanded that he should be provided the entire report to understand the reasons for the punishment.

Jibrael questioned that the ED should explain why the accused was informed many days earlier than the complainant and that he heard the news through social and broadcast media.

Despite the suspension, Dr. Asad will join the office tomorrow as a faculty member at the School of Business Studies in his new office at Aman CED building

Dr. Abbas Gillani, Director Program Offices has been appointed as the Interim Registrar. No notification from HR has been issued to inform about the above changes. Previously, in the cases of termination of the Director HR and harassment of female colleague by the members of the Finance Dept. and Director Finance, emails were sent by the Executive Director to IBA-all email group informing about the decisions.

Despite resigning from his post as Registrar, Dr. Asad has provided approvals and participated in an off-campus training for Heads of Departments only in his capacity as the Registrar.
