The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) has partnered with the University of Lahore (UoL) to establish a groundbreaking fellowship program aimed at fostering academic collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The fellowship program offers Bangladeshi students and researchers the chance to pursue higher education and advanced research in diverse fields, including allied health sciences, engineering, pharmacy, management, social sciences, and humanities. It also includes technical training for laboratory staff specializing in science, technology, and engineering disciplines.
Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, COMSTECH’s Coordinator General, emphasized the program’s importance, stating:
“This fellowship reflects our commitment to closing educational and research gaps in the Muslim world. We aim to support Bangladeshi scholars in becoming future innovators and leaders equipped to tackle contemporary challenges.”
The comprehensive fellowship is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45 who demonstrate strong academic records and a commitment to community service. It covers tuition, airfare, a stipend, and accommodation, ensuring equitable access to advanced education and research opportunities.
Applications are now open and will remain so until March 1, 2025. Interested candidates can apply through the official websites of COMSTECH and the University of Lahore.
This collaborative effort underscores a shared vision of enhancing academic and technological capacities within the Muslim world, contributing to regional development and global innovation.
