A four-member foreign delegation from Finland and United Arab Emirates (UAE) visited the Virtual University of Pakistan (VU). The delegation comprised KAMK University of Applied Sciences Finland President Matti Saren, iSTOC Oy CEO Jarmo Jarvenpaa, SKIF Enterprises CEO Ijaz Kashmiri, and Allied ICT member Sayed Jawed.

The purpose of their visit was to explore the possibilities for a platform through which virtual education can be taken way forward. The delegates were given an introduction to Virtual University at Muhammad Ali Jinnah (M. A. Jinnah) Campus Lahore. The vision of VU is to become an internationally acclaimed technology-based university that improves access to higher education while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The Finland UAE delegation, led by Matti Saren also called on the Virtual University (VU) of Pakistan Rector Naeem Tariq. Moreover, foreign delegates expressed their desire to establish liaisons with Hi-Tech, the IT industry and the universities of Pakistan to strengthen academia-industry linkages.

They agreed to explore future collaboration possibilities for the provision of online education in Pakistan. The delegation also visited various departments of the university. The delegation’s visit concluded with the tour of Virtual University Television. They applauded the expertise of Virtual University TV and its process from recording to telecasting lectures on four VUTV channels.
