District Education Heads To Give Suggestions, Report Progress in Jan 30 Moot

The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has called a meeting of the District Education Authorities (DEAs) chief executive officers (CEOs) of all the 36 districts of the province to take stock of the progress made on several initiatives as well seek suggestions from district education heads for upcoming programmes.

According to a letter issued by the SED, the CEO Conference has been called on January 30 at the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED) in Lahore under the chairmanship of SED Secretary.

Per the agenda for the meeting, the department has split the order of business into two parts. First, the department has asked for suggestions from the district education heads and second, the department has asked to submit details on the implementation of various projects of the government.

According to the agenda of the conference, the department has asked for suggestions for the first phase of the enrollment drive 2019. For this, the department has sought suggestions from district education heads for special measures in low target achieving districts. The department has also asked schools to update all information on the School Information System (SIS) and conduct all official business (transfers, posting etc) through the system. While a briefing would be conducted at the conference by an official of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

In the meeting, the department has required the district school administrators to give suggestions to improve the overall quality of education. The officials have also been asked to submit certificates ensuring the implementation of the timeline for transfers in their respective districts.

The meeting will also review the progress of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2018-19 schemes until January 15. Other agenda items include promotion of sports in schools, action taken on real-time monitoring observations, updates of the said action on dashboard included in the online system of the department. The meeting will also review the progress of various administrative matters such as pension cases, cases under the Efficiency & Disciplinary (E&D) rules, disciplinary proceedings, court cases and regularization of contract employees.

The meeting will also look into the progress of departmental promotion committee meetings at the district-level, implementation of security measures and its regular audit for A and A+ category public and private schools and action taken, progress on complaints received at the Prime Minister Citizen Complaint Portal (PMDU), progress on the complaints resolving process of Chief Minister Central Complaint System and SED hotline and action taken on received complaints, progress on the tree plantation campaign 2018 under the Clean And Green Pakistan initiative, anti-narcotics measures in schools, implementation of anti-dengue SOPs in public and private schools and progress on the roadmap indicators by technical assistance team.
