The governor of Punjab, who acts as the Chancellor of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), has appointed Professor Dr Muhammad Ashraf as the UAF vice chancellor (VC) for a period of four years.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Dr Muhammad Ashraf, a globally recognized botanist and well-acclaimed administrator, obtained his PhD from University of Liverpool UK in 1986 and post-doctorate as Fulbright Scholar from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1994. He passed his MSc Botany with distinction from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
In recognition of his marvelous services for education and research, and for his extensive and productive cooperation in the scientific community, Dr Muhammad Ashraf has been awarded over 20 awards, including three presidential awards – Izaz e Fazeelat, Pride of Performance and Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Dr Ashraf has produced as many as 24 PhDs, published over 300 research papers mostly in foreign journals and also written 13 chapters in various international books.
Before his appointment as VC UAF, Dr Muhammad Ashraf served as chairman of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF). Prior to that he also served as vice chancellor of Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture (MNSUAM), Multan. He has remained the dean and professor at Faculty of Sciences University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
