Professor Dr Noshina Saleem has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Communications Studies (ICS), University of the Punjab.
The department got a permanent head after almost 8 years. Dr Noshina had been serving as the in-charge director of the institute for some years but now given the charge of the post permanently. She also holds the honor of being the first female director of the institute.
The Institute of Communication Studies is the oldest department of journalism in the subcontinent established in 1941. It was called the Department of Journalism but the name was later changed to Mass Communication Department.
