The Syndicate of Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) has given the green light to the establishment of the Centre of Entrepreneurship Management and Emerging Technologies (CEMET) in Rohri. The project will be undertaken in close collaboration with the District Government of Sukkur, marking a significant step towards fostering innovation and economic growth in the district.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The establishment of the Centre will not only contribute to the development of skilled human resources and foster a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and research in Rohri city. The centre will house boot camps and technology research for value-added fruit and food products like dates, guava, strawberries, barley, especially as an alternate chicken feed. The Centre will initially offer the BS Programs in Management Technology, Industrial Engineering and technology, Artificial Intelligence and Business Information Systems. On the recommendation of the Board of Management, the Centre may offer new programs. The Centre will launch a business incubation centre, and consultation services with the support of the District Government, Chamber of Commerce, and other relevant stakeholders from industry and agriculture sectors.
The emergent meeting of DUET’s Syndicate was held on July 18, 2023, presided by Engr Prof Dr Samreen Hussain (T.I), DUET Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor apprised the syndicate that DUET, Karachi was approached by the local District Government, Sukkur and Sukkur Chambers of Commerce for the establishment of the Centre of Entrepreneurship at Rohri at Ata Hussain Musavi College, 2nd Floor Rohri City, to carry out academic, research and commercialization activities. Permission Letter from District Local Government Sukkur and Regional Director Colleges Sukkur Region have been received to Dawood University.
Speaking about the approval, Vice-Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Samreen Hussain said, “This is a momentous occasion for Dawood University, Sukkur District Government, and the entire Sindh province. CEMET will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, fostering a spirit of innovation, and promoting economic growth in our region.
