DUET celebrates Independence Day

Celebrating the 75th Independence Day with national spirit, fervor and enthusiasm, a Flag hoisting ceremony was held at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) with the renewal of the pledge to make the country strong, progressive, prosperous and self-reliant here on Sunday.

Prof Dr Faizullah Abbasi, Vice Chancellor DUET, Dr Abdul Waheed Bhutto, Pro-Vice Chancellor, hoisted the national flag which was followed by the National Anthem, Security personnel of Sindh Rangers saluted the national flag, and special prayers were also offered for the prosperity and solidarity of the country. Registrar Dr Syed Asif Ali Shah, Dean, Chairperson of all departments, administrative officers, employees, and students participated in the event.

Prof Dr Faizullah Abbasi, while addressing the DUET Independence Day ceremony, reiterated that the dream of the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah can only materialize if the literacy and higher education standard are brought at par with the international contemporary needs.

He stressed the parents to keep their children aware of the sacrifices and untiring efforts made by the elders. He also elaborated that he with his team of highly qualified faculty and management is striving for the development of the university round the clock and will ultimately take it to the higher level. He urged upon students and faculty members to work hard with commitment and dedication. The university was also decorated with national flags and banners to celebrate the day.
