Faculty Development Program at Narowal University

The University of Narowal (UoN) marked the successful conclusion of a one-month National Outreach Program for Faculty Development, with a closing ceremony graced by the presence of Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Rana (DLA.I, T.I), Vice Chancellor of the university. The program was a collaborative effort between the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE-HEC) and the University of Narowal, aimed at enhancing professional competencies among faculty members.

The initiative, which ran from December 10, 2024, to January 7, 2025, was designed by NAHE-HEC under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) project. The program included 30 participants, comprising Assistant Professors and Lecturers from diverse academic disciplines, and provided comprehensive training in key areas such as Teaching as a Profession, Research and Development, Communication Skills, Psychological Wellbeing of Teachers, Academic Planning, and Technology Integration.

Dr Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE-HEC, served as the guest of honor at the event. In her address, she commended the collaborative efforts of the University of Narowal and NAHE-HEC in executing the program successfully. Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Dr Malik stated, “This program has empowered faculty members with modern tools and techniques, fostering a thriving academic environment. Such initiatives are crucial for the advancement of higher education in Pakistan.” She emphasized the need for similar training programs in the future to ensure continuous professional development.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Younus Rana expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and applauded the participants for their dedication. He noted, “This initiative reflects our collective commitment to innovation and professional development in higher education. We pledge to continue facilitating such programs for the betterment of our faculty, students, and the institution.”

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to faculty members who successfully completed the program. The event underscored the University of Narowal’s commitment to academic excellence and its pivotal role in fostering professional growth within the higher education sector.
