FAPUASA Sindh Chapter condemns negligence of government towards public sector universities of Sindh and demanded immediate approval of budget increase, bailout package, and disparity reduction allowance for employees of public sector universities

“We have started this protest movement to save higher education of Sindh which is on verge of total collapse due to sheer negligence of the government, we protested at Sukkur Press Club and Nawabshah Press Club, now we shall go to Hyderabad Press Club and then Karachi”.  Liaqat Ali Tunio, President FAPUASA Sindh Chapter

“We have time and again written to government officials including Chief Minister Sindh, requesting them to pay heed towards burning issues of public sector universities, a fresh reminder letter in this regard has also sent to CM Sindh, but unfortunately, they are being neglected, so we have no other option but to go on the streets.” Asif Hussain Samo, General Secretary FAPUASA Sindh Chapter

The association has sent a reminder letter to the CM Sindh requesting him again to resolve the burning issues of Public Sector Universities of Sindh, especially to increase the annual budget of universities, grant bailout package and approve disparity reduction allowance to the employees of public sector universities.

FAPUASA also declared that in this struggle, All Sindh Universities Employees Federation and Sindh Universities Officers Federation are also with them, in their protest in Sukkur and Nawabshah, and now they will collectively protest in Hyderabad. The letters are being neglected and no attention is being paid to the issues, this further compels all stakeholders of universities to be on the streets to raise their voice and save the universities from the debacle.

It was resolved that if the demands are not met then ultimately, teachers, officers and employees shall stage a grand sit-in in the capital of Sindh, Karachi, in the coming days until the demands are met.
