FCCU Hosts Successful COMSPEX 2024 and Open House


Forman Christian College (FCCU) recently held its annual Computer Science Senior Project Exhibition (COMSPEX 2024) and Open House, an event organized by the Department of Computer Science. The exhibition highlighted the innovative work of senior students whose projects align with Pakistan’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s COMSPEX featured a diverse array of projects, including AI-driven traffic management systems, cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions, assistive technologies for differently-abled individuals, and IoT innovations. The event drew distinguished industry leaders such as Mr. Yasir Rizwan (CTO, TKXEL), Mr. Jawad Arif (SVP, Devsinc), Mr. Ammar Saqib (Head of Engineering, Venturenox), Mr. Jaffer Hussain (CEO, Venturenox), and Mr. Masood Butt (Group Head of HR, Khazana Enterprises).

One of the event’s highlights was the awards ceremony. The Best Senior Project in the Applications Category was awarded to Omair Ahmad, Saad Yasin, and Ahmad Tariq for their project “IntelliRoads: Next-Gen Traffic Management System,” supervised by Dr. Muhammad Haroon Shakeel. In the Research Category, the Best Senior Project award went to Saad Muzzafar, Muhib Nadeem, and Yamna Hassan for their project “B-NIAS: Bi-directional Neural-Interfaced Automaton Symbiosis,” supervised by Ms. Asma Basharat. Additionally, the Best Poster Award was presented to Hamza Ahmed, Subhan Wasif, and Maheen Khurram for their project “Thought Visualization using LLMs.”

The distinguished guests praised the projects, underscoring the high standards of education and innovation at FCCU. Dr. Jonathan Addleton, Rector of FCCU, commended the students’ creativity and hard work, emphasizing the importance of such events in bridging the gap between academia and industry. “Forman Christian College is dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in the field of education,” Dr. Addleton stated. “Events like COMSPEX are crucial for showcasing the potential of our students and the practical impact of their work on society.”

Overall, the COMSPEX 2024 and Open House event not only celebrated the achievements of the students but also reinforced FCCU’s commitment to driving progress and addressing critical issues through technology and innovation.
