Female Student Faces Harassment at Punjab Medical College

Harassment at Punjab Medical College

Medical students at Punjab Medical College (PMC) Faisalabad were harassed by unauthorized occupants of the college colony on Tuesday night. The incident occurred when a group of students was returning to the hostel when they were verbally harassed by some residents of the college colony. Two medical students who intervened were targeted for violence.

As other students gathered, the alleged harassers resorted to firing, forcing both medical students out. The students then staged a protest on the main road, demanding action from the college administration. The Vice-Chancellor PMC initially declined to meet with the students, but eventually agreed to address their concerns.

The Sargodha Road Police have registered a case in response to the complaint filed by Security Director Mubashir Ahmed. The Civil Lines Police have also registered a case against five unidentified individuals, including Omar, Umair, Maham, Zawar, and Hasnain.

The students have threatened to boycott classes and launch a protest if the college administration does not take action to evict the unauthorized occupants and ensure the safety of medical students.

The police have arrested three suspects in connection with the harassment of medical students at Punjab Medical College. The suspects have been identified as Bilal Ashraf, Hasib Akhlaq, and Omar.

The students are demanding that the college administration take action to evict the unauthorized occupants from the hostel, ensure the safety of medical students and take disciplinary action against the Vice-Chancellor and Principal for failing to protect the students. The students have also threatened to boycott classes and launch a protest if their demands are not met.

The college administration has released a statement expressing regret for the incident and promising to take action to address the students’ concerns. The administration has also stated that it is working with the police to apprehend the remaining suspects. The police are continuing to investigate the incident and are working to gather evidence against the suspects.
