University of Management and Technology (UMT) School of Law and Policy (SLP) organized a seminar on “Challenges Faced in the Administration of Criminal Justice System ” in which Former Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa participated as a guest speaker. Dean School of Law and Policy Dr Kashif Imran Zaidi, faculty, staff and students participated in the seminar.

Dean School of Law and Policy Dr Kashif Zaidi in his opening remarks welcomed Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa at UMT and gave a briefing about the educational activities at UMT and explained how UMT provides quality education to its students.

Former Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa while addressing the ceremony advised the students to not be arrogant by considering themselves fully competent and worthy but should go out of their way to love the country and its people and play a key role in their welfare. Mr Khosa said that our justice system has become diseased, that’s why many of our cases are being carried till the third generation.

He further said that Allah holds the authority of life, death, honor, humiliation and sustenance, so avoid flattery and shortcuts and perform your duties honestly and this is how our justice system will be fixed by itself.

Mr Latif Khosa said that the justice system of our country is not going in the right direction, so its reform is the need of the hour. There should be many important amendments in our judicial system because we are still following the law of 1872 and 1908 as a result of which our judicial system is not effective and people are not getting justice.

Sardar Latif Khosa also said that we have not trained our police in the way that we should have done so rectification of the judicial and police system is the most important requirement for now.

At the end of the ceremony, Dean Dr Kashif also presented an honorary souvenir to Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa.
