A delegation of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology Islamabad Campus on Friday met the Deputy Chair Senate and Acting Vice Chancellor A. Q. Khalil to discuss the issue of unpaid salaries issues of the faculties members.

During the meeting, it was decided that the salaries of the employees of the Islamabad campus would be paid next week. The deputy chair directed the teachers and staff not to exploit the internal matters of the university by giving them to newspapers but try to resolve them through dialogue with higher authorities of the University.

The officers of the university should have the ability to prevent crises and even if a complicated situation arises they should use their best skills to solve problems with mutual understanding. He said that these long-standing issues have been going on since 2016. We have also requested HEC for grant increase and emergency grant which were turned down. He added that budget revenue was affected due to Code 19 and many other reasons.

Employees of the Karachi and Islamabad campuses are facing the same situation. Salary to Karachi campus was not released by withholding salaries of Islamabad campus. This misunderstanding is being created for nefarious purposes for us all employees are equal and we will provide all possible help for their legitimate rights. The delegation included Dr. Amir Nadeem, Campus In-charge, Islamabad, and Hamad Kayani, Accounts Officer, Islamabad, who expressed satisfaction over the discussed solution and assured that they would work together for the betterment of the institution.
