The member Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast)’s Senate Dr. Tausif Ahmed Khan, Dr. Syed Tahir Ali, and Dr. Irfan Aziz has appealed to the Chancellor and the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi to convene the senate meeting immediately to finalize the names for the post of the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
The statement released by these members says that the search committee constituted for the purpose has already finalized five suitable candidates after Sindh High Court lifted the ban on the process. The senators said that the university is running without a permanent vice chancellor for more than half a year now and new academic, administrative and financial issues are being reported from the university because of a temporary setup in the university.
The timely appointment of a permanent vice-chancellor will bring stability to the university.
