A delegation from the Department of Political Science at Government College University (GCU) Lahore, comprising both faculty members and students, attended the Lahore leg of the consultative process on the World Bank Group’s proposed Country Partnership Framework (CPF). This CPF is a ten-year engagement strategy aimed at addressing Pakistan’s development challenges and opportunities.
The consultative session featured a comprehensive presentation by the World Bank’s Country Director for Pakistan, Mr. Najy Benhassine. His detailed overview of the proposed CPF highlighted key strategic areas and planned initiatives. Following the presentation, an interactive question-and-answer session took place, during which the GCU delegates actively participated.
As the sole representatives from a public-sector higher education institution, the GCU delegation brought unique perspectives to the table. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences enabled them to provide a holistic overview and offer distinct inputs. The delegates posed insightful questions and made constructive suggestions for enhancing the proposed CPF.
The Department of Political Science at GCU Lahore expressed gratitude to the World Bank Pakistan for including their institution in the consultative process. They emphasized the importance of such engagements, noting that these opportunities not only provide valuable learning experiences for participants but also allow for meaningful contributions to the development strategies of the country.
