A Cleaner Tomorrow: GCUF Cleanliness Week Inspires Action

Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) successfully concluded its Cleanliness Week Campaign, an initiative spearheaded by the Green Youth Movement Club (GYMC) under the Directorate of Student Affairs. The campaign aimed to foster awareness regarding cleanliness and environmental sustainability, reinforcing a culture of hygiene, responsibility, and campus beautification.

The highlight of the campaign was the award distribution ceremony held at Iqbal Hall, where Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-I-Azam served as the chief guest. The event was attended by esteemed faculty members, including Dr Sabir Hussain, Dr Farrukh Azeem, and Dr Saima Muzamal, along with department heads and senior academic staff.

In his keynote address, Prof Dr Rauf-I-Azam underscored the significance of cleanliness in both academic and personal life. “Cleanliness is not just an action but a lifestyle. We must treat our university as our second home and take responsibility for its hygiene and beautification,” he stated. He also emphasized the Islamic teachings on cleanliness, urging students and faculty to integrate this principle into their daily routines to foster a healthier and more respectful society.

Departments that demonstrated outstanding commitment to cleanliness and sustainability were recognized with appreciation certificates, honoring their efforts in maintaining a pristine and eco-friendly campus environment.

The Cleanliness Week initiative marks a significant step in GCUF’s journey toward becoming a model institution for cleanliness, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. By actively engaging students, faculty, and staff, the campaign successfully instilled a collective sense of responsibility and teamwork, ensuring a cleaner and healthier academic atmosphere for all.
