Prof Dr Rauf-I-Azam stated that Kashmir is not just a territorial dispute but a fundamental issue of humanity, justice, and international law. He stressed that sustainable peace in South Asia hinges on resolving the Kashmir conflict in accordance with United Nations resolutions. He described the denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as a severe violation of human rights and international norms.

The Vice Chancellor paid tribute to the martyrs and freedom fighters of Kashmir, acknowledging their sacrifices for justice and independence. He emphasized that the ongoing bloodshed in Kashmir should awaken the conscience of the Muslim world, urging them to move beyond statements of solidarity and take decisive actions.

Furthermore, Prof Dr Rauf-I-Azam called upon students and academia to play an active role in raising global awareness about Kashmir. He encouraged young minds to become advocates for peace, justice, and human rights, ensuring that the voices of Kashmiris are heard on international platforms.

“The struggle for Kashmir’s freedom is not just the responsibility of Kashmiris—it is our collective responsibility as a nation and as humans who stand for justice. Pakistan will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination,” he asserted.

He urged the international community, particularly human rights organizations, to break their silence and take tangible measures to halt India’s ongoing atrocities in the region. He reiterated that Pakistan’s unwavering diplomatic, moral, and political support for Kashmir would persist until a just resolution is achieved.

Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually on February 5 to express Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Kashmiri cause. Rallies, seminars, and discussions are held nationwide to highlight the plight of the Kashmiri people and call for international intervention to end their suffering.
