GCWUF Hosts Workshop on Innovative Teaching Strategies

The Department of Humanities, under the Directorate of Faculty Development Program at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), organized a workshop titled ‘Lesson Framework and Teaching Strategies’. The event featured Mr Sheraz Ali as the guest speaker, a distinguished educator who currently serves at the University of Manchester and holds the position of Director of Learning for Modern Foreign Languages at Eden Girls Leadership Academy in Manchester.

Mr Sheraz Ali, who has been recognized for his exceptional work in Urdu teaching, brought his wealth of experience to the workshop. He is also an author of the book ‘Urdu Reading and Writing,’ which is part of the Urdu course at the University of Manchester. In addition to his work at the University, he collaborates with the National Institute of Teaching, offering resources and leading training sessions for Modern Foreign Languages.

During the workshop, Mr Sheraz engaged with faculty members, offering valuable guidance on various teaching techniques aimed at enhancing classroom engagement. He provided insightful knowledge and practical materials to help faculty members create more engaging and effective lesson plans. The interactive session also allowed faculty members to ask questions and gain deeper insights into effective teaching strategies.

The workshop began with a warm welcome from Dr Unsa Jamshed, In-Charge of the Department of Humanities. Dr Rukhsana Baloch, Coordinator of the Faculty of Humanities and Languages, delivered the concluding remarks, reflecting on the importance of such initiatives.

The event concluded with Prof Dr Zilli Huma Nazli, Vice Chancellor of GCWUF, presenting a souvenir to Mr Sheraz Ali as a token of appreciation. In her remarks, Prof Dr Zilli Huma Nazli emphasized the importance of faculty development training in addressing the contemporary challenges of teaching. She also stressed the need to adopt new teaching strategies and methodologies to enhance the learning process, making it more fruitful and engaging for students.
