Government Aims To Focus On Higher Education Uplift, Says Raja Yasir

The government was focusing on uplifting the higher education sector as per the international standards, has said by Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun. While addressing the annual meeting of PU Institute of Islamic Studies Alumni Association here on Wednesday, he added that the government was planning to revamp the higher education in the province, as no country could progress without advancing in the education sector.

The meeting was attended by the Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies Prof Dr Tahira Basharat, Dr Jameela Shaukat, Dr Mudassar Ahmad, Prof Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Salik, Dr Muhammad Ali Nadeem, faculty members and a large number of former students of the institute.

While addressing the gathering the minister said the government would also provide capacity building opportunities to academic institutes in order to impart quality education.

Speakers also shared their views regarding the positive role being played by the association in strengthening Pakistan and the efforts that were being initiated to promote peace, tolerance, unity and brotherhood in the society. Moreover, the speakers emphasised on the role of teachers in the present-day scenario and why they must come forward for the promotion and endorsement of Islamic teachings.
