Govt MAO College holds 4th convocation

The 4th convocation of the Government Muhammadan Anglo Oriental (MAO) Graduate College was held in Lahore in which medals and degrees were distributed to the successful students of Masters and BS programs of the last five sessions.

Provincial Minister Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayoun participated in the convocation as the chief guest. DPI colleges Punjab Dr Ashiq Hussain, Vice-Chancellor Punjab University (PU) and Government College University (GCU) Dr Asghar Zaidi, Additional Secretary Higher Education Dr Rehana Ilyas, Director Colleges Lahore Prof Shehzad BISE Lahore Chairman Prof Habib Ali Mirza also participated in the ceremony.

In the convocation, Provincial Minister Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun distributed 312 degrees, 28 academic Roll of Honors and 7 Roll of Honors for co-curricular activities among students. Principal MAO College Prof Dr Shabbir Ahmed Rana delivered the welcome address.

Addressing the convocation Provincial Minister Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun said that the young generation needs to be awakened instead of mental slavery. Nowadays, the best means of social development is education through which the standard of the middle class can be raised.

Raja Yasir Humayun said that providing the best educational facilities is our first priority and we have always emphasized the importance of quality education and due to our positive policies the ranking of the universities in Punjab have been improved rapidly during the last four years.

Raja Yasir Humayun said that the youth is the future of Pakistan and guarantor of progress and prosperity of the country. Therefore, teachers should play their role to enlighten the young generation with the requirements of the future. Speaking on this occasion,

Vice-Chancellor PU and GCU Dr Syed Asghar Ali Zaidi said that the young generation needs to follow the message of Allama Iqbal. Today, if we want to make our society developed, then we have to promote higher education.

Principal Professor Dr Shabbir Ahmed Rana thanked the participants for being the part of historic convocation which was held after five years.
