Govt to turn 10 public schools into COVID Vaccination Centres

LAHORE: As the COVID-19 cases are increasing, the district administration of Lahore has decided to convert 10 more public sector school buildings into COVID-19 vaccination centers.
According to a tweet shared by the official account of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz, these vaccination centers will be open in schools located in different areas of the city to provide easy reach for the citizens to centers. These areas include Tajpura, Gajjumata, Ghorhay Shah, Raiwind, Ravi Road, Khazana Gate Lower Mall, Cantt, Wahdat Road, Jallo More and Gujjarpura.

However, the press release issued by the DC office shared the names of schools include, schools include Government High School Gajju Mata, APS Boys Model School Ravi Raod, Government Higher Secondary School Ghorhay Shah, Government High School Raiwind, Government Pilot High School Wahdat Road, Government Central Model High School Rattigan Road, Government High School Gujjarpura, Government High School Tajpura and Government Islamia High School Cantt will be converted into the vaccination centers.

DC Lahore Mudassar Riaz has said that around 2109 beds have been allocated for COVID patients across the city and currently there are 1009 patients admitted to different hospitals. The reason behind the conversion of these schools into the vaccination center is that to provide relief to more people before any emergency. He said that pandemic is spreading with fast pace and we need to prepare ourselves for any situation.
